Share Deal

What is a share deal?

The share deal is a form of company acquisition. It involves the acquisition or sale of parts of a company, whereas in the related “asset deals” assets are acquired or sold. Asset deals refer to all tangible and intangible assets and rights that can be recognized in the balance sheet. However, the term is also used to describe the partial acquisition of shares in a company. Depending on the form of business, the object of purchase in share deals are shares, GmbH shares (business shares) and company shares in a partnership. The purchaser becomes a shareholder and thus also receives all the necessary rights and obligations.
